LIONEL RICHIE: INDIGO 02 IN LONDON, APRIL 4 & 5, 2009
Lionel Richie,

With a catalogue as vast as he’s amassed, it’s hard for Lionel Richie to go wrong. Performing before a completely packed arena, Richie provided the audience with everything they wanted to hear from the beautifully acoustic versions of “Stuck On You,” “Still,” “Hello” and a personal favourite, “Wandering Stranger,” (all with Lionel at the piano) to the mandatory Commodores classics including “Brick House,” “Sail On.” “Three Times A Lady” and “Easy.” Would have been nice to hear more tunes from his latest CD: we got the title track and “Just Go” but the uptempo dance-flavored “Somewhere In London” might have been an appropriate addition! Unquestionably, a true value-for-money show, Lionel and a great five-piece band, no bells and whistles, no dancers, just solid music.
